Uh What?
I purchased an electro-tek multimeter to set my gains. Turn it to AC v~ range 200 and i dont get a reading. HELP!

NO. DC is for the car's electircal system, yes. However, when measuring the outputs from an amp, the output is AC.Your car uses 12V DC current. Set your meter to the 20 V DC setting. Not the AC setting.
It is plugged into the v-ohm port. How can i test the rca's to how many volts are coming out of it.Make sure your red test lead is plugged into the V - Ohm[Omega] port (for measuring voltage and resistance), not plugged into the mA/A port (for measuring current).
I thought i was supposed to turn off all eq settingsNO. DC is for the car's electircal system, yes. However, when measuring the outputs from an amp, the output is AC.
In order to get output to your amp, you need to have your EQ on, so it will send the low voltage to your amp. If there is no input voltage thrugh the RCA's, there will be no output
