there have been many reports of them leaking, and stinking like ****, but probably due to improper installation. i have put the 400 amp version in on 2k rms before and it helped a ton, personally i would just buy an agm batter for the price that they are, the esr is so close anyways.

so all it is is nice looking? i am going to be running about a 1600w system. I know I need to a the big 3 and replace the battery. what type of 1/0 wire do y'all recommend and what battery should I run?

Knu or AT for wire and I have a Deka that would work for you...
