I live 40 miles west of DFW and the shop close to me sells RE,Treo, DD and JL

They dont talk down to you when you tell them what you are running.

I had a conversation with a guy once "What mids are you running?" I told him CDT, "I have never heard a set but I bet they sound good"

he didnt try to sell me his brand or say that mine are lower grade because they dont carry them

port noise my asss... that port is square and not rounded off. i highly doubt you'll not hear any port noise with that box. especially a regular cab s-10. why didn't you build him a sealed down-fire box? that to me would've been a lot better

I didn't have any problems at all without a rounded port and a square port.

And yes its possible to cook the alt. I have a 120A and I think mine is getting to the end. I've also pulled 2500w RMS off it.

Yea they were telling me i should buy a prefab box instead because it had the same dimensions as my box and things like that.

We have tons of shops around here, like 6 different ones in my area alone. They all pretty much carry kicker, memphis, pioneer, things like that. One does carry RE but only had one model, not sure which one.

The guy i talked to that worked there said the loudest setup that he has ever heard was two memphis mojos off 2 jl 1000s.

He is retarded. Port noise has to do with the port area compared to the airspace and the drivers you are using. Is mostly drivers but most people go off of airspace. I only have 3 4" aeros and over 5 cubes and I dont have any port noise. As for the alt try the big 3 and a bat. If that still isnt good enough then upgrade the alt. With 1500 RSM you shouldnt need to do the alt though.

FI wtf is an FI. lol. Alot of shops will put down other companys they dont sell so people will buy what they have. Look at it from their point of view. They say DC is awesome then you go and buy DC, They dont get any money, They BS you and you buy some lightning audio stuff and a cap they just made money and when it sucks and you want to upgrade in a week they get even more.

sadly i have a shop around here like that but instead of him being retarded the owner knows exactly what hes doing... he competes at spring break nationals every year and had a tanker that does 170+ db with one sub and multiple other 150db cars but he sells alot of brands that arnt that great and i go to him because he hooks me up on prices for wires i just have to hear his bullshat about what new line hes carrying and watch him sell crap to other people while he gets my wires.

Dont the dakotas have a 150 or 160 amp alternator? I had a car with a stock bosch 150 amp alternator, and ran anywhere from 1500 to 5000 watts. I did have a large battery supply, but for 1500 watts, you could get buy on a deep cycle underhood and one in the trunk.

Im not really sure what dakota's altenator size is, ill prob have to search around some places to find out. I did get light dimming when i just ran 700 watts total, but now ill have 1500. I already bought the wire for the big 3 so hopefully that will solve it.

Once i get everything put in ill go back up there and show the guy what 2 fi ssd 10s can do compared to all his lil kicker stuff he carries

I believe that alt was for the towing package. 90 is the factory.

Speaking of alternaters...I have a Malibu that has a 102amp alt, and my amp is 1000rms. Too much? No electrical upgrades at all.
