Welding wire size question

I was at the local princess auto, not sure what gauge wire I'd need, was wanting some really thick stuff.

I saw 8/3... which is what? It seemed rather thick but it could be just a bundle of wires....

Not sure how much the other stuff was, it was 50FT, I think maybe $150 ish?

8/3 is 3 conductor 8 guage. not what you want. Look for 1/0 ( ask for one ought).

Just looked at their catalog online, the cable you want is on page 327 item H,shows item number 8143844, $3.49 a foot

Thanks, I'll remember it for the next time I come to Edmonton.

I don't have a system in my truck yet. But I'm going to be putting in my two SPL-12s in my regular cab sometime in the new year.
