WELDERS come!!

did you not study for this test??? FTL!

all these questions are easilly answered in any Metal's Shop Class book. You can also find answers anywhere on the web. I havent been in school in (I'm not tellin) years and I remembered at least 3/4 of the answers without searching.

Study up young man... laziness gets you NO WHERE! Cheating for the constant loser...oh well ... good luck

This is just the pointless safety test before we get out in the shop..

I dont think it will really matter in life if i know the four characteristics of acetylene....

until there is a acetylene leak and u dont know what smells like , while some random kid sits in a welding station and smokes a cigarette then u go boom LOL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

1. Regulate cylinder pressure to usable working pressure, and 2. maintain a smooth steady pressure.

2. Shock, welding rays, fumes, fire and explosion

3. AC current alternates as always, DC straight is ground is positve and has medium penetration, DC reverse is Electrode is positive resulting in deeper penetration

4. Its a bullshit question, literally hundreds if not thousands of different electrodes.

5. One tells you cylinder pressure, the other regulates working line pressure.

6. Create a gas envelop to prevent air pockets/contamination Makes impuritites float to surface of bead and finally prevents oxidation on the finished weld.

7. For example E7018 E=arc welding electrode 70= tensile stregth as in 70,000 pounds per square inch 1= position it can used for 1 being all positions 2 being flat and horizantal and 3 being flat only and finally the 8= combined with the 1 it indicates the type of flux and the polarity best used for this particular rod.

8. Electric shock

9. shade 10 or above not 5 pitbull

10. Sparks can cause fire on loose clothes plus skin can actually get bad sunburn if not covered.

11. Shade 5 is fine

12. RAys to the eyes

13. 1.5" since the flux is now about gone

14. Always stand behind in case regualtor were to fail, the t-handle could blow out.

15. Electric shock

16. Always use a clamp

17. Open oxygen all the way, there is a safety device on the valve that will melt and relieve the cylinder of its pressure in the event of a fire. Only works if its all the way open.

18. 15 pounds

19. 1/4 turn

20. 10 pounds working pressure is all you'll ever need

21. green...right hand threads......acetylene is red with left handed threads

22 ?

23. Acetone in the cylinder helps stabilize the acetylene

24. ?

25. ?

26. Concrete can explode due to gas pockets trapped inside during the curing process

27. Take it off and use a tip cleaner

28. turn off the cylinder

I hated kids like you in metal shop, not only do you not study but you must make an effort not to listen at all in class becasue in my class they pounded this stuff into your head until you had no choice but to remember.

Just remember, its not cool not to pay attention in class when you get to college, youll get PWNED!!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

youll be sitting there jacking around during lectures then all the sudden you'll get a test handed to you haha

i love welding. its like my own little world. nothing else is in your mind when you have that trigger pulled. i love it. no school bs, no relationship bs. just steel, heat, and sweat.
wow how profound

Just steel, heat and sweat, just like my night with you mom last night:eek: lol sorry i couldent resist...

Seriously though, i know what you mean, i love how solid and permanent your creations are at the end.

pshhh... MIG welding FTL. go out and TIG, thats where its at. 1/2" aluminum, synchromax 350 cranked up, and big ol filler metal rods. I TIG welded everything from 1/2 alum to 20 guage stainless steel, galvanized tubing.... fun stuff. seriously though, TIG is where its at. ARC and MIG are easy. Theres no better feeling than seeing a badass weld after having both of your hands and a foot working all at the same time.
