Ya? and were they also touching the chassis of the amp?? You don't want the amp's chassis to be grounded.

I do think the problem lies within the grounds or the amp is messed up.

the sub and sub amp are fine now. figured that out.

i can't find why the S4 channels 3/4 are clipping past 23.5v it's not the ground. it's not where it's grounded either. haven't checked the RCA's. i talked to Scott over at DD, him and the owner said check the ground, make sure it's secure. they don't think it's the amp. from what i did, they said the amp should be fine.

I highly doubt the rca's would cause this problem. I think its either the outputs of the HU, or the inputs of the amp....

Other possibilities - the speakers themselves are grounding out, they are blown, or they have loose connectoins. Good luck, and how did you fix the sub?

like i said before the sub amp had a ground loop because the mounting screws went thru the MDF board and touched metal. screw holding down the amp going thru the MDF and touching metal. easy fix, shorter screws and a rubber grommet between the screw and the amp mounting tabs, just in case.

just checked the speakers. no grounding, no loose connections, no blown speakers. i think it's the amp.
