so ive been browsing, and have always heard good things about image dynamics. i have no clue about the brand though. im always switching my setup. right now i have 2 12w6v2s, and i like them but i have them taking up the back seat of my dodge ram quad cab. im going to go back to the custom ported box i had under the rear seat. mounting depth is 8". i am looking for a sub comparable to the 10w6v2 but more bass and sq or whatever. i was looking at the 10"id max and the

10'' idqv.3. what exactly is the difference in the 2? i know price but what would be best for my box. box is 1.0 cube of air space for each sub. i have a memphis 1000d or a kicker zx1500.1 i can use. anything is appreciated. thanks

there pricey but i guess you get what you pay for. i want to get loud but i dont want it to sound distorted and muffed. the idqv.3 is for compact enclosures and the mounting depth is 5.25 and the id max is 7.5'' mounting depth. does the more air a sub has to work with the better it will perform?

well power handling is a big difference..

also size of enclosure they work best in, and id think the 1 cube vented is a tad small for the idmax 10

but, a w6 10 can handle the power of an idmax 10 and perform well in a vented box under 1 cube.

when i had the 10w6v2s i had the memphis 1000d on them and at high volumes. they would start popping or making a clipping sound. the sq was ok but there has to be a better sub out there.

the joe fox box is the one i have now. the other one is another option i could go with. it has more airspace. the fox box is ported and the other one is sealed i believe. whaich one would be better???

Your two w6v2s would do better in that fox box.

Two iDmax's would do well with the second box and not in the fox box.

If you plan to use the w6s, then you should use the fox box. If you want to try iDmax's, which i recommend, then use the sealed, which is perfect for 2 iDmax's.

yea theres a problem. my w6s are 12's with a mounting depth of 7.8" and the box the fox box is for 10's. the sealed boxs' mounting depth is 7" and the moutning depth on the id maxs are 7.6''. i could use the id maxs in the fox box but not the sealed. the idqv3s i could use in either box.

The jlw6 and the idmax are both great drivers. I think something is wrong with your current box that you are using and that foxbox looks like it will give some port noise to.

i can get the box i posted earlier(sealed) with 2.0 total air space. 1.0 cube per sub for either the 10idq v3 or i can get it for the 12idqv2. i want loud but for it too sound good as well
