Alright.. Well I finally got to listen to my music loud tonight.. And I was really upset with what I heard...

Well, first off, I was listening to the new Jack Johnson CD.. TERRIBLE hissing in the recording, not bad at low volumes, but when turned up it's unbearable . ..

BUT, thats not the issue here...

When turned up past about 20 (HU goes up to 35) I hear this really terrible sounding bass note (I believe). It's like theres a long bas note that kinda dips off in the middle and ends strong? Well the middle is a naasty ****ing noise, that is undescribable.

I know this is a really bad description, but if anyone can THINK of any possibilities from what I mentioned it would be great..

hissing is likely your gains being way to high thus you are hearing your noise floor....sub noise needs a better description
Naw, it's specific to the song.. Others have complained as well.

Sun noise... Hmmmm. kinda like a "mechanical" sounding noise.. Almost like the subs hits the note, and kinda dies, but keeps going. BUT it's only inbetween notes, they are very distinct in Jack Johnson, and it happens inbetween each distinct beat.

Maybe describe your system like subs, amp and wiring. To me it sounds like it could be a ground issue. The only way for me to make a better decision is how things are set up in ur car. Like size of wire and length of ground wire. Plus how you prepared your grounding spot ex. sanded down to baremetal and what not. I have seen in the past some one use 4 gauge from the battery then use 8 gauge to run the ground and have it crazy long plus on top of that have another amp and cap ran off that same ground. The sound that came from that was sh1t and after replacing grounds and shortening the sound was gone. Also how is your wiring ran in the car. Does the rca's follow the same path as the power wire that is ran from the battery.

Battery is in the trunk. All power/ ground wire is 4g. about a 2ft run.

All grounds are made to the same location, so no ground looping. I use a ring terminal bolted to the chassis for the connection, not sure if it's sanded down or not though.. But I haven't had any issues up until now.

Have you made any changes at all to your set up. Like new equipment or just a little tweaking here and there. From what you just explained now im at a wall. I really dont know why it would be doing that. You have only noticed this with the jack johnson cd or has there been others. I once listen to a cd that was suppose to have a pretty good bass note coming up and it went all weired in the song. A friend of mine loaned me his cd and the bass note i was wanting to hear was perfectly fine on his cd. Is this cd burnt or new in package.

It was also with my Freak on A leash (Korn)

those were the only two songs I listened to tonight. . .

Like I said above, I swaped my 12g wire for some 8g, just for the hell of it, but I don't see why a larger gauge wire would **** it up. .

No I dont believe there would be any problems there. Maybe play with the gain some and replay those songs. Perhaps the gain is up just enough so that certain songs with a certain beat wont play right. lol just a guess I'm not sure at all what is happening.
