Weird noise

Well today my sub started making this weird noise like it was hitting something i check it and nothing was in front of it it still hits but every time it does it sounds like its hitting something would could this be

Ummm. broken/loose spiders.... tinsel leads... bent former... something in the box (depending if ported and something got sucked up in there).... loose dustcap.... broken box.... there you go I think i got everybody. might have missed something though

nah ive heard it clip before and this is nothing like it...it more of a object sitting in front the dustcap and as the speaker hits it makes the sounds of hitting something or it backfiring

It sounds more like a loose dustcap as vehement stated because i took the sub out check it everything was fine checked the wiring make sure everything is connected good reconnnected it and it did it again it sound like the dustcap was loose

how do I fix this

nah i think its a loose dustcap

well i put my hand over it to see if holding the dustcap in place would make a difference it didnt its coming from within the speaker but everything looked fine to me

I had a problem last night similar to this. I had a rattling coming from one of my subs (cheap Rockford p210's). Anyway it turned out that the motor was coming loose from the basket. The screws under the spider have loosened up. Take the sub out and carefully pull on the magnet to see if it is separating from the basket. It only takes a small amount of separation to produce a horrible rattle.

ok so i think its bottoming out because i lowered the gain about 1/4 of the way and it stopped will i turned the volume and the gain up back to normal settings and it started again but then i was droving and i let it play at low volumes with my sub off and i turned it back on and it was back to normal wtf?

No seriously maybe your suspension loosened up on your sub enough to let the VC hit the back of the magnet. Does it hit almost as hard on less power? something is loose / broken. check your grounds and RCa's. good luck hope you dont need a new sub.
