Look at the 3rd poster: "with the bp series amps they have a flaw in the rca ins that jbl never told anyone about. if you only use one set of jacks on the amps you will only get half the preout voltage into the amp. you need splitters to use both sets of jacks on the amp. as for the speaker wire connections, the amp is bridged internally so you have nothing to worry about."

I did too until i switched um around and it sounded the same in both! wierd.. Because keep in mind this is a mono amp doing the same rms at 1 and 2ohm.

In that case i could get a splitter and get 2x the voltage i'm getting now.. i don't get it.. Would it hurt anything if i tried it out?

also i was told the rca's that feed the epicenter aren't supposed to be hooked to the sub pre out on the HU.. Instead, rear or front out.. Why is that? I know "because it will send it a full range signal" but what is the diff in the outs?

The difference in the pre outs is that many sub outs on the HUs have a lowpass crossover on them. The Epicenter requires a full range input signal to work correctly so the presence of a lowpass crossover ahead of it in hte signal chan keeps it from doing its thing as designed. If you have one of the 2006 Alpine model heads, go ahead and use the sub out: no crossover, just non fading output with an independant volume control.

Just tried splitting off my rca's and use all 4 inputs on the BP1200.1 like the quote says and it is a fair bit louder.. I don't have a volt meter but I can hear a diff.. So i guess the theory was right.. Very strange..
