Don't know if I should be getting too involved here, but what we are saying as conservatives is that A) There is no problem with federal help, but B) You should only be getting this federal help if you need it. If instead you can afford to buy nice car systems , go out to dinner , etc, rather then pick up the tab on education, it is wrong. It is a problem that will never be fixed completely, but hey just throwing it out there. Don't think this is directed at you in a negative way at all...

Education for all is no different than healthcare for all. Its a terrible mandate placed upon people and treated as if it were a right.
It's certainly not in the constitution that i who has ZERO children must pay for other people's rugrats to get smart.

Topping it off i am also FORCED to pay to educate illegal immigrants and felons!!!!

Only problem i have with this is did you go to public school? And if we as a nation stopped paying for education the private school prices would sky rocket more than they are now. I agree kids dont understand the vaule of education but it is unrealistic to expect children to work and go to school. Our nation would crumble due to the over whelming amount of uneducated people While yes they are many that dont make it through the system it helps more than hurts our Country. However the healthcare is going the other way as you see the amount people pay for healthcare is crazy why not cut back on the amount we cover our government officers. They should pay more for all the coverage they receive. I dont lke obama at all he is a snake but if he walks the line and somehow does some good i can accept that..

^This...I also go to college on the federal payroll, and I am 2 semesters from my degree. But at the same time, I pay taxes and have been paying taxes for years. So while I am taking, its not like I havent paid my share of taxes.

However, I do agree that school should only be mando up until High School. It is at this point the kids decide whether they want to drop out, or continue their ed. The basis of this argument should not be aimed at those who actually educating themselves and getting good grades, but rather, at those who are WASTING the tax dollars. I.e, kids who dont even want to be in school and just ditch, get suspended etc.

I like the end of life counseling idea in healtchare, we need the same thing in education though. Just as some people are too sick to cure, some people are too stupid to educate. The US could save a lot of money by killing the terminally ill and kicking the terminally stupid out of school.
