we can't hear anything...pls help

my friend gots a lightning audio s4.300 amp running his mb quarts 6 1/2" components speakers. connections are fine, the only thing is we could barely hear any vocals comming out of them. any suggestions to why we can't hear anything?

Turn the gains up a bit

we did, and every once in a while we hear something but then it fades aways and stays like that
