2 15" XXX in my mx3

im wanting to hit 150+ in some of the local bass comps, so im ripping out my backseats to install a large ported box for 2 15" XXX's in my mazda mx-3 (small hatchback roughly the size of a crx) the box will more than likely be facing up with the ports firing to the rear as suggested by a fellow mx3'er who competes in bass comps.

sub amps: ive been looking at the hifonics brutus...but im really looking for a lil more rms wattage @ 1ohm for these subs, anything in the brutus price range that is a little beefier (i doubt it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif)

front soundstage: thinking about the AA koda 6 components...these are silk dome tweeters, right? what hifonics amp do you guys think i should run with these?

im getting a 220a alternator, and i have the battery that came in the car when i got it. if im running the 3 hifonics amps, do you think i will need a cap, or extra battery?

any opinions from you guys would be greatly appreciated! thanks for your time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

He'll hit harder with two 15''s

(properly powered)

Hit them up with like dual Planet Audio 2250d or something //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

if you upgrade the alt., you should really upgrade the stock battery as well. Look into the optima red/yellow tops.

look into getting amps that can push 2000+ watts each sub and go from there. There's some great directed amps at sounddomain.com for $500 that do 2400 watts @ 2 ohms. Get two of those and upgrade to the dual 1 ohm XXX's and you should be set //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you really wanna excite people, go with one sub. Talk to marleyskater420 about the sub he has and go from there with it, otherwise, get two 15'' XXX

these amps sound like EXACTLY what im looking for. i dont mind upgrading to an optima, i planned on doing it eventually anyways.

do you mean marleyskater420s 15" xxx or his MT...i think he has an MT, right?

is that sub even recommended as a daily driver?

or better yet....do you think that 1 XXX can handle 2 hifonics brutus @ 1ohm for daily driving?

so total, 4 brutus' and 2 RE XXX 15"s

is that going to kill the subs?

if you're set on a pair of 15 xxx's then i'd say this should be sufficient to power them.....http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3069931005&category=18796

i'd go w/ 1 or 2 ohm voice coils and run the amp in stereo //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
