As a complete beginner in the world of car audio, I know very little. All these numbers get me very confused. Especially about deciding what amp can power what sub. Can someone explain to me how to get the best possible sound out of a sub? So pretty much explain: should the wattage of the sub be below the wattage of the amp? or above? or what? and what are ohms, and what does it mean what an amp's power is some number X 2, or X 4, or whatever. Thanks.

ok...for starters....check out the link on the bottom of my signature....as for subs and amps....

try to match the rms output of the amp w/ the subs rms handleing capability

next wiring comes into effect.....so read up on that site in my sig....lots of helpful info...peace
