Okay, how, using a multimeter. can i gauge the watts my amp is outputting to my subs? Im buying an amp rated ar much more RMS than my speakers can handle.....

3 10" type Rs

with an alpine amp with 1000W RMS on 2omhs. I will be running at 2.67 as i have 4omh woofers. How can i figure this out?

Are you trying to find out how many watts your amp puts out @ 2.67 ohms?? If you are, that would require an Oscilloscope //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I can get my hands on one of those......do tell.

Well an amplifier puts out an analog signal, this would appear on an O-scope as a sine wave. The point of clipping (maximum power) will be just below where the tops of the waves are "clipped" off into a flat top. Then you just use the scale on the screen and the equation Power = Current X Voltage and you get your wattage.

Copy. Is that basicly what the gain setting tutioral is about? Cuz i dont wanna have to borrow one from work if i dont have to.
