although i do feel that this shouldnt have happened, on the lulz side of the situation, it would be pretty funny if the reserve ran out before they can fix the leak.

and to whoever was *****ing about "BP and the government should let us fix it", i highly doubt you have half of the ideas milling around in your head than BP does, let alone ones that would be considered even reasonable.

Thats the funny thing, the leak could run for years.

out GOVT has supported and encouraged BP for deep water drilling with no back up plans in case of failure...sticking a pipe 6000 feet down sure must have risks just no plan if the pipe cracks, bends or blows up......RIP Gulf of Mexico.......Im for drilling,I hate supporting Arab ****s in the middle east because the

spend money with terrorists but not at the risk of destroying our land.......We took over Iraq for oil,so well MOFO lets get some oil for payback so we dont have too drill 6000 feet!

The ****ed up thing is this same exact scenario has happened before in 1979, the IxToc spill in the Gulf of Mexico...

^^^Don't really care for the anchor but the old news footage is worth viewing...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ixtoc_I_oil_spill

Same failed cap, same failed "top kill", same failed blowout preventer, even the same company owns the rig. The IxToc well is only a few hundred feet deep whereas the Deepwater Horizon is around 5000 feet deep.

Basically this could of been prevented. Due to corporate greed(and possibly government carelessness/corruption) the same shit happened again except it is much worse.

I used to work on a Off Shore Rig, Now I work on land ones, But the tiniest leak is taken as if it were 9/11 all over again, For one to get that bad, Means they were not doing their jobs. This should of never happened in the first place. But due to peoples ignorance, We loose Millions of gallons of oil, But I don't mind it, Us guys drilling on land are getting more for our oil.
