Great sub. SQ is awesome and it hits decently hard. Dont think you will be dissapointed with it. Friend loves his in his Firebird Formula. Throw it in a ported box with 1200 watts and it will wang

yes its a very very sharp sub.....^^ hmmm 1200 watts is rediculous to give to a type x....everyone that knows anything about the type x knows that it barely can take a clean 1000watts without bottoming out. give it 800-900 watts and you will be more then good. type x are great

yea, what are you talking about. The RMS is 1000 watts, max 3000. and I KNOW I KNOW rms isnt thermal rating...but it is still usually close.

well i have a 2.25 cube ported q logic box and a JL500/1 shoul i upgrade my amp or would that be sufficient for zeppelin

haha noticing i had 2 of em gettin exactly 850watts (tested and dmmed) 850 clean watts rms....to each...and they could barely take it in a sealed custom box from xtreme audio...yea jsut because it says 1000rms watts 3000peak doesnt mean it can actually take it ....audiobahn for example....they overate their equpment. If you really don't think the Type X will cut it on 500 watts, get a used SI Magnum from the classifieds. IMO an all around greater sub. I personally think 500 would push any sub just fine, but having no real experience with the sub, I can't make anything more the guesses.

well no i believe it should run it just find just wanted to confirm it, ad i hate buying used electronics, only new, and only a select few of brand i will purchase as well

Well I dont know what the guy is talking about the X not taking over 1000rms. My buddy has 1 in a lancer and it wangs off a orion1200. It sounds clean as hell too. I wouldnt mind picking up 1 or 2, but money is the issue at hand.

the jl would be just fine.....but!, for a little head room, id go for more power, but tthat enclosure isn't gonna show off the full potential of the sub.....upgrade the amp if u can afford it....otherwise u will be just fine
