i dunno wer x max comes from. heres wat comes with my woofer manual.

max power : 400 watts

freq. response : 30 hz - 5 hz

sensitivity : 90 dB @1w1m

suggested box parameters.

system type : 2nd order closed box

v(B) = 1 cu. ft.

Q(tc) = 1.003

F(sc) = 68.41 Hz

alpha = 4.2

what does those numbers mean. HELP!

Max power = the maximum amount of power the woofer can take

Freq res. - the range in which the speaker plays, but that range is next to impossible, so please post what the speaker is

Sensitivity - How efficient the speaker is aka how little power it needs to get to said volume level. In this case, it takes 1 watt from one meter away to register 90 decibels. The higher does not mean the better, it's only helpful when matching with an amp and an enclosure.

Vb = Net volume the speaker wants, thus, after everything else is accounted for, the amount of airspace left over.

Qtc = Box "q" factor. Usually only used in sealed boxes, it's the total Q of the system at the resonant frequency

Fsc = I have no idea in hell, maybe the rolloff?

Alpha = Again, no fukin clue.

And xmax is merely the amount of LINEAR movement the speaker can make per stroke (one-way). Measured in milimeters, Xmech is how far the speaker can travel when only limited by the suspension components (this is usually NOT linear). Linear travel means that you're most likely not encountering distortion yet, whereas if you're reaching Xmech, you're most likely either overpowering the speaker, or have it in too large of an enclosure (ported most often).

And please stop talking like a baby....

Let me highlight what I meant, for all you slow folks out there:i dunno wer x max comes from. heres wat comes with my woofer manual.
