Was set on JL's, but now...

I'm reading a lot about some of these different subs, but I really dont know much about them (RE, image dynamics, mmats). I was set on getting 2 jl 10w3v2's with a 500/1 jl amp. Does that sound like a good match up or what other 10's would you fellas suggest? I mainly listen to rap so I want it to be pretty loud but still needs to be around the same price as the JL stuff. BTW I cant go bigger because this is going in a mustang and a dual 10" ported box is barely going to fit. Its 3.2 cu. ft. total.

that stuff is way overpriced for what it does. if you wanna stick with the jl 500/1 you could get two memphis pr 10's, those would do well off 250 watts each, and at about 70 a piece would be savin you lots of money.

Welcome to the Board Give us a price to work with, you might do better with one sub in a larger box as apposed to 2 subs sharing that same volume. IIRC the difference between 1 and 2 subs off the same amp is small, loudness wise.

I was looking to spend about 150 per sub. We'll say about 400 total on subwoofer(s). At an audio shop here theres a box that was perfect for the w3's(1.3cu.ft. per sub) and I was gonna get it. I've heard a lot about these RE subs, dont know much about them but from what I'm reading they sound promising. Where can I get them at? The w6's are out of my price range. My friend has 2 12w6v2's in his tahoe w/ jl 1000/1 and it slams but its too much $$$ for me to spend.

I can possibly fit 1 12" if its a good sub, I want something thats going to be loud and be heard outside the car, thats why I was going with the two 10's.

bonesninja - I dont work for walmart, but everyone in this town practically does, if not they work for a company that works with walmart haha.

Ok its narrowed down to this:

2 JL 10w3v2's in ported box w/ 500/1 jl amp

or

2 10" Crossfire BMF's in ported box with 500/1 jl amp

Which ones are going to be louder, hit lower, sound better....just the overall better pick. The shop here in town sells the BMF's and he wants to get some in some cars around town and he will cut me a hell of a deal on them, pretty much spending 200 for each sub instead of 260 and that includes warranty.

Mustang w/ mach 460 system. I only have 11" under the rack for the speakers that are in there now. I gotta pull it out just to slide the box I'm getting to the back.

well i could get you a 10" XXX and an amp for power it for a litter less than your budget, and would literally shit on the 2 ssetup you have listed.
