Wanting to do a home audio setup

Im wanting to put (2) 8" or 10" subs in a box im building for my room. My reciever has a subwoofer output but its rca jacks. Is there anyway i could hook up the subs to it and would it push them enough? Or how could i do the amp and the whole nine yards inside? Any way to run a amp on a 120 volt circuit plugged into the wall?

Theres a dozen threads just like this in the home audio section already but the easiet thing for you to do would be to pick up a plate amp from parts express and run RCA leads from your receiver pre-out to the plate amp for the subs...

What J3 said, a plate amp will be your best option. You can pick them up somewhat cheap (around $150) at Parts Express.

dam i dont really wanna spend that much for somethin for my room. this sucks.. they have some nice amps though

I have an 8" TB in .75ft^3 at ~30hz w/ an attached 100W plate amp I'd consider selling....

well i would be building a custom box to fit under the tv stand i made.. and it would be pretty big so i was thinkin 2 or 4 subs. I would like to have that 1000 watt plate amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif.. thanks though
