okay so my plan has been to wall 4 aq hdc3 12's but its gonna take me a while to save up for everything i need including 3 more subs another amp and somemore batts. so in the mean time ive decided i want to do a budget wall basically just for the hell of it. see how good some cheap subs can do. so my first idea was to use cvrs because i have two sitting around but they are dual 2 ohm and my amp does rated at 2 ohms so having four of these wont work. so i need suggestions on budget subs i can use that will sound decent but im gonna be trying to squeeze as much spl out of them as possible. how about the hifonics hifi subs? im sure they arent anything to be wowed over but will they fit my budget criteria? theyre cheap as hell

Wouldn't the money you spend on 4 cheap subs be better spent going towards you original goal?

I suggest don't even bother wasting your time and save up until you're ready to buy everything.. If not, do the wall now so it motivates you to get $ to buy the subs.

do a wall with SDC's and 1/2 the power now. That way you can drop in HDC's and add more power later. Walls aren't fun to build, so I'd do it right the first time...

Of course I threw one in last year for 4 weeks and then ripped it out to go back to a trunk set up, but I'm silly like that...

well the reason i was just gonna do a real cheap *** wall now was beacause it really is gonna take a while to get what i need for the aq wall. i need an ho alt too which is insanely expensive for my car the cheapest i found was like 600 bucks. and ill need some more intimadators for batteries. i also still need 3 more of the subs and another amp so i figured i just do thisshiity wall now for fun so i have somethihnjg to do while i save for everything. plus if i do it right i may be able to keep the wall and throw the aqs in seeing as they will require about the same airspace and such. ill tune to the likings of the future aqs also so i can just get them in there when i have everything

2 18s have more cone area than 4 12s and take about the same box.mach 5 mj18 all the way
theyre just a little too expensive for a temporary budget setup. i can get those shit hifonics 12s for around for all 4 thats the reason i wanted to go with them. theyre so cheap i dont see why not because i will have my wall then to use for the future aqs and modify if needed

doing the tuning, volume, and port area for the AQ's will make the cheapo subs sound even worse.

If you can scrap together the $$$ to do SDC's and then sell them off when the time comes it would be worth the time/$$$, otherwise I'd just live with what you have now...

well the box volume for the chepos is gonna be the same as the aqs the tuning would be fine for both. i plan on tuning around 37 or so which would be fine for the shiit ones and be good for the aqs later. as for port area that wont change because as i stated before the volume will remain the same. they only difference will be the sub displacement which isnt that huge of a deal. ill look into the sdcs though if i could afford them in a couple weeks maybe ill go with them instead. i need to find a local sucker to buy these cvrs for a decent price hah

the other problem i forsee with the sdcs is power. i have 1600 watts to give at 2 ohms no more. are the sdcs as power hungry as the hdcs? because they would only be getting 400 each
