want to clean up my car -wash,wax,etc

It'll be an all day thing. Was, then a q-tip to get at the nooks and crannies that have accumulated crud over the last few months. Then polish, then wax. For the rims I'll need to rinse then scrub, then polish with mother's powerball, then put a layer of wax on them too. LAst time I buy polished aluminum rims.

I'll of course do the tire shine, interior vaccum and some sort of conditioner, and was bolt-on accesories such as step bars, vent visors, etc...

whatever you do claybar it before you wax it, you will thank me later. I prefer the mothers claybar kit, the meguiars works good but they dont give you much clay. For wax I like the tech wax 2.0 from meguiars, theres better stuff out there but for readily available stuff it works great.

Claybar is good stuff, and a necessity if you're going to do anysort of buffing action on your car, so you don't grind little dirt specs into the clear.

I use the products from detailersparadise.com ..

I run it through my family's carwash, then make sure it's in the shade and use meguiars gold paste/cleaner wax and as long as you do it right it's a nice wax (I like to do a double coat coming out of and going into winter)...I have a craftsman buffer thats like new and very nice...but never use it for waxing, I prefer to do it by hand.

Then I coat the tires in meguiars 'endurance' tire dressing (I cant seem to find it anymore though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif), then pop the hood and wipe down everything with a cloth dampened with water or window cleaner...then put some tire shine on it and wipe down the whole thing and its clean and shiney...

^if you dont do this often you be under the hood for quite some time with multiple rags and degreasor, etc...but if you make it a regular thing then your engine bay stays very nice, clean, and shiney //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I also go over all of my plastic exterior pieces with tire shine/some sort of protectant I have on hand to make it all come together

ya i have the tech wax 2.0, only usdx it once before winter so ill try it out and see what happens.
You're on the right track if you pick up the Porter Cable 7424, I personally have two of these because they get the job done. If you want to really get into babying your car check out some of the detailing jobs over on http://www.autogeekonline.net forum. You can also check out products with feedbacks from professional detailers and hobbyist alike. http://WWW.autogeek.net has tons of car cleaning products you can use also. Tons of tutorials on the site as well. Goodluck.
