Want a free civic, yaris or scion xa or xd? Own a gas ******* SUV? hmm...

hmmm....I can't say I have one earth friendly, non-gas guzzling vehicle in the garage or drive way. I love the leg room and power you can get in a big sedan like the Chrysler 300C. I enjoy the short jumps in the Mustang but it's lacking but the stereo makes up for it. Well, the Yukon and Expedition both drink gas like fat chick eats cake but talk about room, comfort, ability to haul things and I'm sold. The Mitsubishi 3000GTSL shouldn't even have a back seat it's just a get up and go fun little car to have. Now if I can only find a white OJ Bronco and I'm in heaven. Too bad I got rid of the R6 but next spring I'll pick up a 'busa and call it a day.

Yes, gas prices are crazy right now but after living overseas for a few years and paying $6 on average for a gallon of gas I've kind of adapted to the prices. I figure when the time comes when I can't afford to fill my gas guzzlers up it's time to trade up smartly or downsize my tiny little fleet lol hmmm...imagine what I could do with insurance payments on only two vehicles both being small toyota or honda, save on gas......I COULD REALLY GET THE CAR STEREO I WANT BUT BE LIMITED WITH THE INSTALL BECAUSE I'D HAVE NO SPACE....no brainer, keep the gas guzzlers with room for install lol

I saw a woman being interviewed on the local news and she was *****ing about gas prices and she's driving a big *** truck.

She said that she needs to use the truck everyday, to pick up her kids, it's not like she has a choice.

I'm just wondering how fat her kids are that she needs a big *** pickup. Perhaps we should end obesity first, then people will start fitting into smaller cars.

One item that helped me average over 38mpg in my xd was the real time MPG gauge. Helped me realize how crappy my city driving habits and even freeway driving habits were. Even dumb things like when you are driving at 35mph, use 5th gear and put the cruise on if the distance is long enough. I usually cruised in 3rd. MPG went from 28 to 65 just by doing that.

You guys can buy an aftermarket one for most newer vehicles called a scangauge2. Works great.

Point of this post is just to open some eyes on how much coin can be saved over a 100K mile period. Just shocked me when I ran the numbers. Was like hot ****! That is a lot of cash!

how the fuck do you manage that? I'm only getting 32mpg with my 02, maybe i need to go change my air filter.

Is one a auto and one a manual?

Of course not, do not be silly. But for the other 95% of your driving you do not need an 11mpg gas sucker, but hey it is your cash and I could care less really. I plan to buy a new boat for the family as well here in the next few months and will buy another truck to tow it, but it will only be used for camping, fishing & so on. Gas suckers still have a purpose of course //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Just shocking people daily drive them with the way things are.
Well I tow my boat all over the state and if im not towing that I have my sea-doos, atv, or sled. Plus with the harsh winters here your gonna almost need an SUV. My buddy goes to Michigan Tech and if you dont have an SUV up there you cant even get into your own drive way

I bought this last week to help save on my commute. My truck only gets 12 mpg eeek. Its an 06 Kia Spectra5, gets like 38 highway

Cool man, car will pay for itself over driving the truck. And guys I am no tree hugging hybrid touting kinda guy, I have always been about performance cars and my latest build should get a whopping negative 4mpg under full throttle haha. Just wanted an open discussion about how much can be saved.

Pretty good discussion to open up. Sometimes we complain about the gas prices versus looking for alternatives. When the real world numbers(math) is directly in front of you it's time to put up or shut up. I honestly use my Mustang for daily commutes because it saves a bit on gas. When I have things to do it's an SUV I hop in. Trust me, I don't even think about how much I spend on gas per month because I'd probably get sick.

A 4mpg car...dang you're trying to run 11's all day huh lol

*LOL* That was a negative 4mpg haha. And going for 10's actually. More like gallons to the mile with 1200cc injectors.
