Although i totally agree with what you said... Most people buy cars for expression not just transportation. If it was just for transportation they would only need to make one car. But I do agree with your point. But if you want to express yourself sometimes that cost money. Another way to break it down to look at the other side... figure 15k miles a year so 6.666667 years. or 6 years and 8 months. To simplify more ..80 months so 200 a month more to drive your dream ride. Now many people use them as a second vehicle or weekend vehicle. Which they don't drive 5,000 miles a year. which equals 67.25 a month difference. Or about the same as a foot ball game nose bleed seats. Or two ok dinners with the girl. A night out at the bars. And I assure you that I would opt to drive a suv which I can put tons of stereo equipment in and look good while doing it over any of those things. You know I can agree a little on the daily drivin vehicles. But for the toys. Yeah rightScary stuff guys. Here is some food for thought. Want a free car over the next 100K miles? Kind of slaps you in the face when the math is done.
A gas ******* SUV that gets 15MPG would use 6666.666 gallons of fuel over 100K miles, scary how that number came up huh //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif That is $26,666.66 in fuel @ $4 a gallon.
Now get rid of that money drain and get say a scion XD, XA, Yaris or Civic, somthing or whatever that can get 38mpg or above. Over that same 100,000 miles you would use 2631.57 gallons of gas which at $4 a gallon = $10,526.31 in fuel cost.
A difference of $16,140.35 Which is what I paid for my XD *LOL* So over my old SUV I sold off, over a 100K mile period, of course minus the tax, title, licence and finance charges. Just scary to think about how much can be saved at todays sick fuel costs.
2011 models or 2010, it's in the C&D mag.More like 2020, then cars need to get 35mpg.
cars are required to get 35mpg and trucks are around 24mpg i believeIs that just for cars in production, or all vehicles?
Production cars and its fleetwide so if they have a car that gets 30mpg then they need one that gets 40 to equal out.Is that just for cars in production, or all vehicles?
Under terms of the auto mileage deal, the cars and trucks sold in the United States must meet a fleetwide average of 35 miles per gallon by 2020
why would you do that?ever try towing a 24foot boat on a big double axel trailer with a XD? lol
how the fuck do you manage that? I'm only getting 32mpg with my 02, maybe i need to go change my air filter.my 07 civic coupe gets 36mpg with 100lb box, 25lb amp, 10lb amp, 60lb sub, 50lbs of deadener and a 200amp alternator
i love it, it looks good, so comfortable inside, great interior, smooth ride can't complain about a single thing

Of course not, do not be silly. But for the other 95% of your driving you do not need an 11mpg gas sucker, but hey it is your cash and I could care less really. I plan to buy a new boat for the family as well here in the next few months and will buy another truck to tow it, but it will only be used for camping, fishing & so on. Gas suckers still have a purpose of course //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Just shocking people daily drive them with the way things are.ever try towing a 24foot boat on a big double axel trailer with a XD? lol
