I've heard a lot of different setups (Kicker, FI, Sundown, RF, Alpine etc.,) But the only one that will give you the sound I'm sure you want is a Funky Pup. Start out with a 10 at first and slowly work your way up to a 12.

Do you seriously think hes ready for a funky pup? Those things will prob cause atleast 30% permanent hearing loss with about 50 watts in a 1 cube ft box tuned to 50 hz.

That is such an open ended question it isn't even funny. Best sub for what? SPL, SQ, a mix of both? Best in a ported enclosure or sealed? Small enclosure or large?

You see, there are too many variables to consider when attempting to answer your question that nobody is really going to give you a serious answer.
