i got a everstart maxx for my truck its been good so far, i think it was like $70 but i had a gc so i only paid like 40.

I tried a couple of Everstarts from Wal-Mart for my boats a few years ago. The best thing about them was the warranty. I thought they sucked big time but I may have gotten a couple of duds.

I bought an everstart xtreme several years back ($60 IIRC) at Wal-Mart.

That battery's been used and abused. I've probably run it dead at least 10 times, and it's not a deep cycle.

Through all that it still isn't showing any signs of weakness.

I believe it's going on 7 yrs old.

I personally think batteries that cost $100 or more are HIGHLY over-rated.

Consumer Reports rates the Ever start batteries pretty good.

^the warranty on the higher end everstarts is one of the best i've seen...

edit: which reminds me... does anyone know why optima's warranty period is so short???

Is it a deep-cycle?

If it's a 'dual purpose' deep cycle, then it will be fine. If it a standard deep cycle, then it wont last to long with it being continuously charged.

Hmm.... i might just pick up a new batt... my car has a hard time staring up cold at times... well not that hard but its a bit longer that other days...
