W7 vs. Type X

I am wanting to put a 10" sub in my truck...which speaker would be the better one to go with? 10" JL W7 or 10" Alpine Type x...just based on numbers the type x can handle alot more.

buck, have you heard both? also, what are you trying to achieve?

either, i think the X can be pushed farther though. I know with my experiences with JL, they don't like to be pushed past there RMS ratings too much.

Thats just my experiences though.

i would definitly get the x then, the W7's are way too expensive anyway.

I know the x's can take 1500 rms all day though.

i know when i put the joose to my x it fckin WANGS. but if i keep it up for longer than like 1 min i can start to smell it.

but thats probably more than 1.5k going to it when that happens

Yesh you are def right about the price here locally I can get the x about a hundred bucks cheaper than i can the 7

if you get the x, port that ish. people say not to, trust me... do it.

that is the first time that i have ever heard somone say not to port it. I had a type r in a sealed box then went ported with it and it was like a whole nother speaker.
