nvrmind did the math and 165mm is only around 6.5in

anyone know where i can find big dust caps???

I've seen this happen to way too many w7's. My buddy used a piece of plastic and glued it on. It actually looked similar to a dustcap. Sub was ugly as hell after that but it worked, he just made a grill for it so you couldn't even see it

yeah,

i was talking to a guy on here

and he said

to go to a window cutter

and have them cut me a

piece of really strong plexiglass and glue it on

and i think thats gonna be my best bet instead of putting a GIANT dust cap on it.

Why not just get some cheap sub with a alumium cone and glue it over the W7 cone. I have done that useing a Pyle Blue wave cone over a Rockford fosgate Hx2 POWER. Every one though I had the BASEST sub around.

Y not just check ebay and find a blow up sub cheap....or buy a cheap sub.....toast it(WITH VID) and then use cone.

It's a EASY fix any way you look at it if you don't care that it won't look like a JL any more.

ive seen ppl cut a round piece of Mirror out and glue that over the broken cone... shit looked dope

trim it off. you don't want to take a chance of that shit breaking off and falling down by the coil

ok so im buy the sub from a guy in bloomfield hills tomarrow, and after i get some stuff shipped out im going to buy a DD carbon fiber dust cap.

it is 8" in diameter

How should i put this on after i trim it?

What kind of glue do i use?

super glue. or CA, which is the same as super glue. There is some stuff made for speakers, but ive used superglue w/good results.
