hey whats up people, this is my first post.

Im sure alot of you know quite a bit about subs and what not so i was wondering if you could help me choose a good sub.

I have a tahoe so space isnt really a problem..

But i was wondering if i should go with 2 12" Alpine Type X or a 12" W7.

Ive heard really good reviews about both and then again some not-so-good reviews on both.

Ive heard that the Alpines sound awesome but dont have much punch and then the W7 is the opposite.

I would like to stick between these two companys atleast because the dealer i know is a JL/ALPINE/KENWOOD dealer and they give me good deals.

Thank you.

Type-x's sound great, but they're real power hungry.

What's your budget range?

I got my 2 12" x's and a hifonics bxi2006d for about $900, plus another $150-$200 for a huge AZZ box req'd for dual x's, and honestly, they want more power. They told me.

I had a pair of Type X's in a ported enclosure built to specs. They sounded amazing in the SQ department. I give them a 9.5/10 on SQ. On the SPL side I rate them as 7/10. I can't tell you too much about the W7, except for stuff you may already know. Good luck with your choice. Either way you should be fine.

Im looking to spend about $1300-1500 max. Might sound like alot but, im non-stop listening to music. And if i want my music to be loud, and hit me in the chest... but sound good at the same time.

But if im gonna go with the W7, i would probably get the W7 with the H.O. Wedge box.. I hear thoes boxes are pretty sweet.

Anyways, any suggestions with that kind of money to spend.... not waste.

2 12" type x's or 1 12" w7. if you 2000rms on tap its no contest. If not w7, also if you wanted to save some money buy a 15" mag put 1000+ on it and it will shit on a w7:D
