Yes, it does 500rms @ 4-1.5 ohms. But like all amps, when you lower the independance and supplly enough voltage - more power will be created.

what i dont get is if its regulated to put out the same power from 1.5 - 4 ohms, hows it going to produce more power at lower ohm loads?

yea i know 500 is the minimum, its rated at 11 volts i believe. thats a baeutiful thang.

I'm not sure how strictly it actually is regulated. I found out tonight that I had been sending my 10W7 about 1500WRMS (SEVERELY clipped 67.1VRMS Square(ish) waves) with my 500/1 for about a month straight. I tried to post a new topic about it but I can't seem to at the moment.

But the question is when you tune the amplifier with the DMM which has an impedance of usually 1MOhm, what does the amplifier regulate to? 4ohm? 3ohm? What I'm trying to get at is with the speaker DISCONNECTED it has no idea what you're GOING to send to it after you tune it when you tune it with a DMM only. This leads me to believe the regulation is not that strict and it can produce more RMS power than 500watts before clipping.

I tested it with a Fluke 43 Portable Oscilloscope/Frequency analyzer/TRUE RMS voltmeter ($2100 MSRP) and the maximum I could pump out of it before any clipping was about 50volts.

Here's a picture of the display showing the wave I previously had been sending the 10W7, just to let you know.
