W6 vs. Type R

You would be a fool to get rid of the W6v2's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

SQ W6>TypeR

loud SPL type bass TypeR>W6

hence why its so popular at caraudio.com

everyones hearing is impared and they need more spl to overcome

the previous "HotTicket" subwoofer

want to trade your L7's for type r's?
Seriously? I probably could PM me sometime.

Looks like I'll stick with the w6's though. I'm going to make a ported box and a Sealed enclosure! So this should be fun I'll keep you all posted, might not be for a few more weeks though.

i think the r's would only have greater output in a big *** box. given similar box sizes (1.5 ft^3 per driver)...i'm sure the w6v2 would pWn. i seriously haven't found any other subs that tickled my fancy like the JLs. of course i need to listen to my subs in a small suv before i really make any definitive statements.

the output of the w6 v2 can almost match the type r in "special boxes" i have a bud that can do 147.5 with 1 w6 on 1500 watts and it still sounds reallllllllly good (he has 2 now in a tuned more subtle box on the same power (set up with 2 does 144 and is articulate). i just think it goes by what you value more sq r hump. type rs seem really usable in an spl set up but then again so are the w6's IMO one sounds alot better than the other but it also costs alot more...

Well I currently have 3 12w6v2's. But there has been all this hype over the Type R's so I was wondering...Would 3 12" Type-R's dominate in overall output? Would it be the better buy. I work at Abt electronics so I could easily return all three W6's and get a full refund and then trade it in for 3 Type-R's but I'm just curious if thats a smart move and all? I have yet to hear the new Type-R though. So give me your input please! Each sub will be powered by it's own amp (Alpine MRD-M605 or JL Audio 500/1) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

I'm guessing no. But go ahead and buy them that way you can tell us.

well..........granted i havent heard both at the SAME TIME...BUT....the oldeer type r's were right on par with the w3's......and the w6's are way better than the w3's i've heard..............................who knows

personally id just go with the JL's for the garunteed SQ and the fact of which im getting tired of this type r stiffy's left and right,,,,,,
