VW Jetta 04 HU Question???

I just got me an 04' VW Jetta with a Monsoon Stereo setup. I havent dont to much research on it, on what to do to replace the HU on it. Im told this and that bout it, horror stories and stories of it aint shyt. I need some advice from people who have done one, or seen one done. I just wanna change the HU out. I bought a HU from crutchfield and it can with everything I needed to change the HU in the wifes VW R32. It was pretty straight forward.

As far as I remeber yes. It's been over 2yrs though. I don't remeber having to buy "special". I got the pigtail/harness so it was just pulg & play. go to vwfixx.com and do some searching around on there. You should be able to find something there for sure.

Yea, so that amp have RCAs just like regular amps? So i can plug it into aftermarket deck? Im waiting on the tools to take the deck out, so I can see whats back there... lol

No you'll have to buy a wire harness. One end you'll wire to your new HU, and the other end will have a female plug that will plug into the factory harness.

Yea, but for the amp? Its all contained in that wiring of the harness?

It's all in one. If you do plan on running another amp you will need to bypass and run all new wire.

Dam, that was my next question. I just wanna add a sub amp....

Heres what I wanted to do...

Take out the factory HU, replace it with another. Leave the factory amp on the speakers and add a sub amp and sub, nothing big. I guess it aint that easy as leaving the factory amp on the factory speakers and just adding a sub and sub amp with the aftermarket HU?

You can add just an amp/sub by using a LOC (line out converter).
