Volume of subwoofer stops increasing

Iv noticed on my new 1500 watt amp my subs stop getting louder around 30 volume well on my old 1000 watt amp my old subs kept getting louder up to and past 35 i know for sure I'm not pushing that amp to its fullest ability so does anyone have an idea of what's going on? I have an ho alternator two batteries And the max volume on my receiver is 50

Maybe it is not matched to your hu voltage correctly. You push more watts the louder you turn the volume and it should get louder as you go. But I would say 38-40 would be cutoff for max volume to use.

Oh so lower the gain does. I didn't set them the shop did so since it stops getting louder does that mean they set it for a certain volume?

Perfect example, I had a 1000W Sony amp. Past 20 on my HU the subs wouldn't get any louder but the door speakers would(being driven by the HU), 1500W SD amp, sub DB increased all the way to max volume on the HU. Basically if the sub isnt getting louder when you increase volume, you have maxed the voltage amplification capability of the amp. Increasing the applied voltage will only cause the amp to "clip" applying maximum power for longer periods of time. Toasting your subs and hurting your amp. Make sure your gain isn't set to high what kind of amp is it?

The dotted line represents the maximum voltage capability of the amp. If the amp could produce more, it wouldn't clip, allowing a clean wave to be sent to the subwoofer. The maxed out period of the wave is equivalent to a constant voltage applied to the coil in the woofer, causing the coil to generate large amounts of heat, distorting the sound, reducing the lifespan of your woofer and amp

possibly usually when setting the gain you want to put it 75-80% volume sometimes higher depending on the hu. Then you calculate the voltage and set the gain to match.
