volume and tuning

i couldn't get any replies in box and fiberglass help. i ordering two of the 05's comp vrs. im powering them with a da 1500d. i want mostly spl out of this system. any suggestions for volume and tuning of the box? also would a single chamber box be ok for two subs? any suggestions appretiated.

how much room do you have? around 2.0 per driver, tune to 34-35hz for street

i have plenty of room. it's going in a vw jetta. they have huge trunks. right now i have one of the older comp vrs in a 2.25^3ft box tuned to 38hz. plenty of room left over. so a about 4 cuft net should be good tuned to 35hz? will a single chamber box be fine for these subs. kickers prefab box for these is single chamber correct but it doesn't look 4cuft either well prefab normally are smaller.

what would i be losing buy doing a single chamber ported box. this is a lot easier for me to design. i could go with the dual but not if there is not a real big difference. i guess it is easier on the woofer and safer using the dual chamber box? i don't know.

4ft^3 internal. After driver and port displacement the box will be around 5ft^3.

A single chamber enclosure would put the drivers at risk if one were to fail. The other would be in a box larger than it can handle.

Also by using a dual chamber box, bracing is accomplished much easier.

By hand is the best way to do it. Use this for port caculations

You basically are just adding 2 ported boxes together.

Sure you can use that. Just make sure to check the supplied dimensions twice
