I should be getting this MA Audio amp soon (should be at my door friday), but it says ; RMS Power @ 14.4V: 50W x 1 @ 4 Ohm, 3600W x 1 @ 2 Ohm RMS Power @ 17.0V: 75W @ 4 Ohm, 4000W @ 2 Ohm. How do I get 14 or 17 volts to a amp in my car when my battery is on 12v?

also. What type of sub should I get out of these two for it, L7 2ohm dvc or 4ohm dvc? Whats the difference? Its been a while since I got into any car audio pass the basic stuff.

Most cars today charge at 14v (sending 14v to the amp). 12.6v is what you get on a full charged battery with the car off. In order to reach 17v you would need a H/O alternator with a modified voltage regulator....I dont know much more info then that.

You need 16V batts, or 8V batts and it would help if you had a 2nd alt with adjustable regulator so you could charge the 16V batts without having a 16V charger.

Don't worry about a 17V system unless you plan on doing a lot of competitions. Just not worth it. You have to have the 17V system for the amplifiers completely separated from the vehicle's electrical system, as that high of a voltage would likely fry most of the electronics in your car.
