Volfenhag 12' 1000w max 500w rms subwoofer
Audiobahn A8002T amp
Mobile Authority 1 farad cap
4 gauge wiring
Hey guys,
I used to have two Volfenhag subs and my voltage would always drop from 14v to 12v and sometimes 11v, but very rarely. Yesterday, I removed one sub, cut the box in half, and wired my sub to 8 ohms with the + going to the left channel + side and the - going to the right channel - side (bridged).
Now, my sub is MUCH louder but is still not getting close to the 500 watts it should. However, after wiring my amp and sub my headlights (I have HID's) and dash lights dim and my motor revs up trying to power the system.
What is wrong? The system isn't very powerful and I have had multiple places do multiple tests and each time my alternator and battery come back as working in great shape.
As of now I have to have my sub on -5 through my headunit to keep everything from dimming.
