measure help with ported box?

so i have been trying to get correct measurements for a ported box for two jl audio 12w6v2 but everyone has told me that if i build the box to jls specifics i will have major port noise and that jl builds boxes to make the subwoofer last longer but not to its best potential

a guy said he was writing me up some measurements and he said "I'm drawing up a 3.5cuft enclosure, 34" W x 14" H x 23.25" D, tuned to 32hz with a little more than 56sqin of port area (4.5" x 12.5"). That should let the subs breathe much better and have little to no port noise. JL's design would have idiotic amounts of port noise."

and now i cant seem to get a hold of him anymore haha

my trunk measurements are

Trunk width: 37"

trunk height: 26"

My car is a hatchback so the depth of my trunk shrinks

Highest depth of trunk is 25"

Lowest depth of trunk is 17.5"

and yes i measured around the humps, and changes in angles of my trunk so everything should be accurate

my guess is too little port area... and probably too large of an enclosure.
