voltage drop sundown saz

i have a red top under the hood and a kinetic hc2400 in the back. I did the big 3 with 1/0 knuknonceptz wiring and i am running all 1/0 wire. i have a sundown saz 1500 running at 2 ohms(800 watts). when i turn my lights off and im idling i get pretty bad voltage drop. it drops below 12 volts. i know that if i rev my engine to higher rpms it wont do that but dont you think my electrical should be sufficient enough for only 800 watts?!??! even with my lights on. but im about to be running my amp at 1 ohm and i want to make sure i wont have horrible voltage drop. i just dont get how with my car im getting voltage drop with 800 watts but then i just installed a 1200 watt audioque amp to an hdc3 15 at one ohm and he gets hardly any voltage drop at all. no big 3 and stock battery. something is wrong here. somebody please help.

what size alt and make sure the batts are at a good resting voltage and also check the grounds

how do you have the back battery grounded

Those are my old batteries. When I sold the kinetik to him it was resting at 13 volts and the redtop was at 12.6 volts. When did you get a 1500d?

Eric, go back over your big3 connections and make sure there is no paint, oil... between the connector and the bare metal. Make sure all your connections are good. Check the resting voltage of your batts. With the car off you should be fine with the Kinetic you have, you should only see slow lowering of the voltage. turn the system on with the car off, check the voltage at the battery and see what the voltage drops to.

I am inclined to say it is a connection issue

I would have to agree. I have a autozone battery and running a 1000D and a 100.4 and I don't get any dimming. I don't have the big 3 done but I do have a 4awg power and ground for the alty. With my JL system I would get dimming lights and stuff. So check your connections. I plan on running the rest of the big 3 this thursday because I maybe going back to JL amps.

that and make sure you gave those batts a nice charge before installing them

Guessing connection issues as well. I had a saz1500 at 1ohm with just a yellowtop up front and a 200amp alt and never dropped below low 13's for voltage. Also check your ground to make sure its tight and clean. When I went through mine it was getting rusty and it had only been a few months.

and the alt is stock. not sure how big it is. im pretty sure its around 100.
