Voltage Doesn't Change when Using DMM to Set Gain

Im trying to set my sub amp gain with a DMM. My amp is connected to a epicenter. When I stick the DMM needles into the amp inputs, the voltage doesn't change on the screen. Help?

Connect the prongs to the output and that's is were you will be looking for voltage.

Make sure your DMM is set for AC and connect it to the speaker output terminals.
