Voltage Battery Terminal

Hey,

I am going to be installing subs in my buddies car and I decided to make it even more professional by adding a battery terminal that will allow me to insert the wiring, instead of just rigging it on the stock terminal.

Not necessary, you can't see the readout unless you are staring at the battery which shouldn't happen often. Just get a normal battery adapter. I am glad you want to do it correctly.

I dont like the set screws personally, doesnt feel really sturdy to me. I've had wires come out of them before.. I use ring terminals on the wire, crimp them down, and then solder them. No way its coming off. Ever. I use marine terminals as well, theyre about 3$ a piece and have a threaded rod sticking up + a wingnut for you to put the ring terminals on.

I will consider just getting a normal one, but if I do get the volt meter one. I can just wire the meter straight to the 12V switched of the radio correct? Then ground the wire. So then the gauge will only come on when the ignition is on, so there is no battery wasted?

Or your ignition wire.

True, I have never tapped into an ignition wire before, just being that if I did tap into it and cut off to much wire I wouldn't be able to start the car haha. Is it pretty easy to locate the ignition wire?
