I was wondering how can I change my alarm from vibrate to sound? The how do I change it back to vibrate?

To those that own this alarm:

When the alarm goes off does it show you on your key what part of the car was hit? Mine doesn't...I don't know if this is normal

Read the manual, it tells you a lot. To program your remote, press all 4 buttons at once, then press lock or unlock to change settings.

No alarm will tell you, physically, what part of your car was triggered, instead, they have what is called zones. Zones consist of doors, hood, trunk, shock sensor, etc.

I was playing with my alarm though and when I bang on the drivers door it doesn't indicate on the pager that the drivers door has been hit. I think it just beeps and shows like a hammer.

Could somebody explain to me what the difference is when I just hit the lock buttom once and the car beeps and locks rather than tapping the alarm buttom twice the alarm chirps then goes off for like 2 seconds...Is there a difference? How many time do you guys hit your lock button?

Just curious do you have the manual? If not, I can post it on here for you.

Hitting the door will trigger the shock sensor. There's no such thing as an "independent left door shock sensor". By hitting the door, the shock sensor will go off, that will be indicated by the hammer that you described. Whether you hit the roof, the tire well, or your gas tank door, and if it goes off, then the shock sensor indicator will show on your pager. If your door is open on the other hand, then the door will be shown open on your pager, that's if you connected the door pin or dome light to the door pin input on your alarm brain.

Again, if you have the manual, it will tell you that if you press the lock button a certain number of times, it will bypass certain zones on your alarm. For instance, if you don't want the shock sensor to go off, you can press the lock button a certain number of times to turn it off (this will be indicated in the manual).

on the back of your remote there is a button. Push it and you will hear a beep.

You are now in programming mode

*use the lock button within 5 secs to toggle between vibrate and beep

*use the unlock button within 5 secs to toggle between illumination on or off

hope this helps.

That is an infamous problem with Viper remotes. It'll send but won't receive, and sometimes vice versa. There was a recall a couple years ago on the 790 white remotes due to loose soldering internally. That is something that needs to be repaired by DEI. I recommend getting a replacement using a Python 881xp or Clifford RSX remote, they rarely have problems with it.

Thats only on the newer remotes. If it has it, then itll work, otherwise its the all four buttons together method.

+1

I was replacing customers remotes on a regular basis. Since dropping Viper and going to Clifford I hardly have the issues. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
