Video of my setup!

k, I went to 2 different independent car audio places, and was told by one "That is wicked loud" and he suggested getting rid of one of the 6x9's and putting some 5 1/4 up front, getting a 15" sub.The second told me (Tweeter installer) that it was the loudest system he had ever heard without distorting. So I'm still looking for a decibel meter to see how loud it really is.
Not to put down your system. But your source of reviewers is rather crappy. Even if 20 audio places said you had an amazing system, they could all be tone deaf leopards who have no real audio experience other than making a sale.

Based on the equipment used and choice of installation location. I doubt it is distortion free...

But as long as you don't try to brag and say it's the ****. Then everything is good.

i suppose thats cool man, if you like it then great, but if i may, i would make some suggestions.
having 6x9's facing down at the floor with the rear exposed to the same cabin that the front is - will A cause extreme cancelation because the back waves and front waves of the speaker will collide and neutralize eachother. and B have you ever watched TV or went to a concert and turned around while you listend? having speakers behind you is about the same idea //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

as far as your substage is concerned, having mismatched subs will do the same thing. since they dont have the same excursion\sensitivity\motor strength\ect - they will not be able to play "bass frequencies" at the same SPL and speed, so the difference in the subwoofers will cause cancelation as well.

so you might want to look at getting a pair of those 6x9's up front somewhere, and getting a matching RF sub on ebay. those look like P1's - you can get those for pretty cheap.

depending on what amp you have im sure you might be able to get somthing a little better and build a cool box for it where that shelf stops. but its a nice start man. you have been bitten by the car audio bug, and being on this site will force you to upgrade //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
ty req, the 6x9’s will have properly built boxes, but with a 1 week old baby, no time at the moment. I didn’t have them up front because of the volume of the system, and I’m looking to put 5 ¼‘s into the door panels later. I was having a problem with the P1 not performing like it should, but solved that by changing the sound card settings to include .1 sound. And now that the P1 is performing properly, the subs do sound mismatched and there is some canceling at about 50hz.

Thanks for the kind words, and I was bitten many years ago in a Mustang Mach 1 with an 8 track tape, riding around with buds, having a great time listening to Ted Nugent/Zepplin/Heart/Lynyrd Skynyrd. Presently getting into lil flip, Trivium, Chamillionare, Slipknot (Duality is a great vid if you haven’t seen it) and on and on.

150w rms is turning heads? :p
It has to be louder than that, because I can only take about 3-5 minutes with the speakers 3’ behind me before I have to turn it down, And it is a work van, one of the last places you would expect loud music coming from :p

lol its not a joke
The setup is a joke, the post isn’t, but should be, lol

Ive seen, and heard it all now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif
Not yet, planning on using outdoor loudspeakers next, rofl

k, just kidding, but glad you could have a laugh //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I would never compare something I have thrown together to something with high end components thoughtfully planned and implemented. There is amazing clarity through the speakers due to the high pass filter on the psw, but I don’t know how long the speakers will last because I believe I am pushing them way past their rating. The only distortion I have noticed is on some vids that were ripped with the recording level set too loud.

What!?! I can’t brag on that setup? Rofl, I wasn’t bragging, just saying what I ended up with. I already see myself upgrading everything. I did some testing of the subs (30hz, 40hz, 50hz) and the P1 performed better than the psw, which surprised me because at the shop where I bought it, it sounded like ****. (The rca’s were coming through the high pass filter of the psw, and with the psw perfoming as a subwoofer at the time with the rca inputs, the psw sounded better)

So yeah, I will eventually drop the psw, but for the moment it cleans up the 6x9’s and puts 130w into the 100wx4 amp.

wtf is that ????
An abomination to auto audio enthusiasts everywhere.

You shouldn't get cancellation because of freqency response differences. Same thing with phasing issues. Both woofers would recieve an impulse responce at the same time. Remember adires tech article about bigger woofers being "slower"? (hint, they aren't) Exactly, they would still be in phase! However you'll probably end up with a very UNEVEN F/R unless you really plan it out, it's some what common in pro audio circles. Cancellation in the subbass region in a car is very difficult, unless your daily driver is a schoolbus! Or you don't even try to seperate rear waves from front like his 6x9's
