I was doing a little cleaning up on my computer, and under Add/Remove programs I found something called Hyperload - QB Shootout, then there are 2 more labeled racing and tennis or something.

The crazy thing about it is that the one labeled QB Shootout is over 5,000MB. Thats like 4-5 times bigger than anything else I have installed on my computer.

I tried deleting them from Add/Remove Programs and it doesn't work. Tried searching for Hyper, Hyperload, QB, ect., and still nothing came up.

Not too savvy with computers, so if you guys could help me that would be great.

Thanks.

don't know what program that is, but if it was me, i'd reinstall the operating system... nothing like a clean install to make sure you know exactly what is going in your computer...

forgot what its called.. reformat i think? i did that a couple years ago on a different comp and loved it...probably will end up doing this.

Anyone know of a good website where I can print out step by step how to reformat and save some files?

i wouldn't reformat, i'd reinstall windows all together... if you can back-up all your files on an external harddrive that is...

you're an idiot, reformatting is reinstalling windows. if you don't reformat you'll lose HD space by just reinstalling a new windows on the same drive. reformatting cleans the drive first so you're working with a blank canvas so to speak.

sir you are absolutely correct, i am and idiot... i sit around all day and think of dumb shit too say cause i have no life and wish i could be more like you and point out the shortcomings and mistakes of others... however i can't do this because of my genetic makeup (you see my father is my brother also, and my mom is my aunt as well) so me and my three teeth and grossly large forehead will stfu now...

j/k my bad, was thinking he meant something else, but yes you are correct, you would need to reformat...

reformatting a harddrive clears the data on the disk, and formats it in a certain format. (Duh). Either FAT32, or NTSC, etc. If you reformat a drive by itself, it's useless... basically it'd be the same thing as it being a slave drive.

But when someone says 'reformatting' and they're talking about the Master drive, obviously they're gunna re-install windows, or another operating system.

As for the OP's question, Google the name of the program. If it's a virus, they'll probably be links to forums where they answer how to remove it.

I'd also like to recommend a free virus scanning program that works really well, it's called Avira AntiVir. You can find it here: http://www.free-av.com/

You don't have to buy the premium... but, obviously it's better. It's a decent, easy-to-use virus scanning tool that updates it's database daily... so it's really comprehensive.
