Venting Door Speaker Pod?

^ You may be thinking kick pannels. I've never seen a guide on vented door pods..

You could build the enclosure part in the door and part out or build the whole thing on the outside of the door. Vented pods are usually pretty big so... Perhaps it would be a good idea to make the door completely airtight. Then mount the speaker like normal, find internal volume of the door, and use that to tune. That would be the easiest and probably best looking.

well the pods are built and by venting I just mean open up a whole so the speakers are running IB instead of in a small sealed box.... I was kind of hopeing the small sealed box would work since it's totally external and I didn't wan't to make 3" holes in my door panel...

When I e-mailed mb quart when I built my pod, they told me to cut the back out because the 6.5"s would sound better than they would sealed...

If you search somewhere I posted pics of when I was building them and such.

My vote goes to stuffing them first and seeing what they sound like sealed. If you get poor midbass you know what you got to do then //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

well I cut the hole for IB... it was just easier... but after 4 solid hours of installing and wiring the @#%@# fuse blew when I attached the main power wire.... sigh... I'll get another one tomorrow and test it to see if it's grounded out... anyways... oh and the **** pods are hideous... I need to make new ones at some point...

CDT speakers usually recommend an infinite baffle installation, at most a sealed installation.

i would not vent them unless you really know what the hell you are doing.
