vented box

vented box are nice to have for awhile, but it makes me want to go back with sealed or a ported.

i thought a box with a rectangular or large long shaped port = vent

while just a small circle port (like on the q-logic box) = port

Nope, the terms are interchangeable.

Rectangular ports are sometimes called "slot ports" or "vents", but they're the same thing acoustically.

I agree. I went from a 12" RF Power Hx2 in a 32hz slot ported box to a 10" eclipse in a sealed box and the sealed box isn't loud, but it does make it sound a little tighter. I just love the loudness of the bass! SLOT PORT RULES

Custom ported is the only way to go, prefab usualy have arbitrary tuning freqs

no it's not close, but I was still saying that I like was able to get more bass out of the slot port than the sealed box. But I wasn't comparing the sub I was comparing the boxes.

Why do you think the subzone boxes are tuned to high? My old box with 2 memphis 12s were in a vented box tuned at 40hz (sub specs) They were LOUD in that box. I would only go with vented

40hz is quite a bit high for daily driving.

O i really have no clue whats good for daily driving all i know is it was a memphis vented box tuned to 40hz. for the sub specs.
