I've heard their stuff has very good sq but was way over priced. I'm just curious about them because the amp I'm running is an SPL Z1X-3000D which does have really good sq but I didn't know who made it but turns out it's made by Velodyne. My home sub is a 12" sealed servo sub, so yeah, I've heard of them.
The servo car subs were the ultimate SQ subs in their day, still highly sought by collectors....... as long as it comes with the servo control box.
They are on the high end side...How much do you know about their car audio? Their stuff good or decent?
The SPL Z1X-3000D is reported to have the same board as Power Acoustik, Kole, O2 Audio, etc. who all share asian build houses. That doesn't mean it's bad, just that Velodyne didn't make it.I've heard their stuff has very good sq but was way over priced. I've done my research and I'm pretty sure the amp is made by Velodyne. Its the Velodyne SPL Series II Z1X-3000D. Maybe I'm wrong but from what read it is I originally thought it was made by SPL Dynamics but I spent a while looking it up one day and found multiple sites that said it was made by velodyne. The SPL Z1X-3000D is reported to have the same board as Power Acoustik, Kole, O2 Audio, etc. who all share asian build houses. The Velodyne subs are unique in their feedback loop and controller.
I'm just curious because every time I've ever looked it up the company Velodyne came up and SPL. I'm just curious about it because in my opinion its a good amp. It runs cool all the time never gets hot, has very good sound quality for what appears to be a cheap amp. I mean I don't really know jack about the insides or what makes them good but I do know the difference in good sound quality and bad sound quality considering I'm more of an sq guy.SPL Z1X-3000D (z1x3000d) 3000W, Class D Monoblock AmplifierThis is not SPL Dynamics its just SPL.
