USPS pwned me... Advice requested

So I bought a DVD burner on E-bay (dumb move I know)... and the tracking info for the shipment says that it was delivered. I never got anything. I asked the USPS truck driver what was up and he says he wasn't even at my address the time that it says it was delivered. Now USPS doesn't make you sign for the package so I have no proof that it wasn't delivered to me since its marked as delivered.

I sent the seller an e-mail asking for some help but really what can be done in this kind of situation? For all I know the USPS driver gave my package to his best friend and marked it as delivered. shyt bro....dont know what to say.

go to a USPS office...show them the tracking number and explain the situation to them, hopefully they will provide you with some good info.

find out where it was delivered....

Actually that was the first thing I did... the guy searched for my package at the office thinking it was a mixup. Then he came back in attack mode saying "it was delivered!" showing me a paper with the exact same info that the tracking online gives you. Such BS.

The tracking info e-mail I got from the seller has it as the correct address, so it was definately on its way HERE... not anywhere else.

It would seem that your stuck then unless you get some normal, non snappy, non depressed, happy usps person who can give you a break.

In queens, city I guess you could say. Thats a good inquiry, I live in an apartment building so the packages DO go to a doorman. However, I'm pretty good friends with this doorman and hes been giving me my packages for years. He was even the one to call me when the truck driver was around to investigate. For that reason I'm kind of ruling him out. Another thing, he tells me that sometimes USPS delivers packages to my building that actually should go to another and that while he returns them to the truck driver, most others don't when they receive a package that doesn't belong to them.

It is still a possibility that the doorman could be stealing my DVD burner, but I highly doubt it. I really don't even know where to look for a culprit so I'm totally pwned at the moment.

ummm why not just buy a DVD burner at newegg for like $40... in anycase I'd just bug the shit out of them... at least try... there isn't much else you can do... at least it wasn't a big ticket item
