Not much you can do externally to determine if something in the amp has blown. You may be able to smell something burnt.
You could touch the dmm in DC mode to the power/ground to ensure voltage is reaching the amp and with the stereo on, touch the remote wire with pos and amp ground with neg to ensure your HU is sending the remote turn on signal.
To test to see if it is your RCAs, get a MP3 player and connect it to the RCA input of your amp. With your stereo on (volume can be off), you should be able to hear the MP3 through your sub.
If these check out I'd turn it to AC mode and with music playing somewhat loud I'd touch the speaker pos/neg. If the amp is blown I don't think it would send voltage to the speaker outputs.
If all those check out then I'd look to verify you have the speaker wired correctly.
