using different wires

I am using a 2 gauge rockford fosgate aluminum (i think) wire kit for my sub power/ground.

My set up has been somewhat temporary, everything is bolted down and whatnot but it is crammed in. I will be installing my sax 125.2 soon and I need to rearrange to fit it. My current sub amp needs to be farther back towards the trunk. My power wire should have enough slack... but my ground will not make it that far. I have no other closer grounds in the ex as far as I can tell. Should I buy like 5 feet of 2g from the local parts place? It will most likely be copper so not the same as the stuff I have now.

cliffs: Is it okay to use different brand wires for power and ground to the same amp? (same gauge)

anybody out there with an explorer that knows the best grounding spots? Just got it to a bolt behind the back seat as of now.

I've been wondering the same thing. I am going to move my battery's so I grabbed 2' of 1/0 from my local welding store. looks to be half as big as my audiopipe 1/0 I have now. Not much bigger than the 4 gauge I have So I thought it was a waste of money. May as well run that 4 gauge.

Since the whole body is grounded....make one.

Although I recommend grounding to the frame since the body sucks.

Even better than the frame is doing dedicated runs of ground to the front battery, but most people don't want to put that much work into it.
