Using carpet to seal/deaden trunk?

I have some extra carpet laying around and I was wondering if I could use it to seal my trunk more to keep it from rattling and make the sub sound better? Any opinions and or thoughts are welcome. Thanks

I don't think it would do much of anything.. You need some CLD tiles to stop vibration

Carpet would absorb sound and when you want it to be loud that is the least of what you need in the trunk.
